
My Story
Hi friends! My name is Brittany and this is my story.
I saw a quote that said “Let’s talk about how hard it is to open up to someone about being sad for no reason. Let’s talk about hard it is to explain to your friends and family that you have this heavy feeling in your chest for no reason. Let’s talk about how hard it is to understand your own self and how scary it is to feel like the whole world is falling on your shoulders and you have no idea why.”
This quote resonated with me because for years I struggled in silence battling negative thoughts, debilitating anxiety, and low self-worth. I didn’t tell anyone because I feared I would be labeled, bullied, or looked down upon. I didn’t want my friends to think I was weak or a drama queen. I didn’t want my parents to think I was ungrateful.
And ultimately, I didn't think that anyone would understand.
But boy was I wrong!
If I could go back and tell myself one thing, it would be that people DO care about how you are really doing... and if they don't, it's time to find new people!
As hard as it was for me to open up to my loved ones about what was going on in my head, having those conversations changed my life. I hope my blog inspires you to take that first step too.
